Good report from the Urologist

Last week Daddy took me to see the Urologist to see if things have changed with my 1-kidney - I was born with some swelling in 1 of my kidneys so I get an ultrasound every 3-months to monitor change over time. The technical term is hydronephrosis. Here is a picture that Daddy took of me in the office while we were waiting for the doctor to come in.

For the past 2-years, the status has remained the same - no change... but Dr. Packer was thrilled with the recent results of my test. He said he saw a big improvement and feels very good that my body is fixing the problem by itself. He told me the results were so good that he would see me in 1-year!

Dr. Packer was also impressed at my toughness (he saw my cast) that he walked me around the office so I could show everyone my cast!

From 2010_11_20 Sam's 2nd Birthday Party

I know my post is late, but better late than never. I turned 2 last week and it was an exciting week. We celebrated my birthday 2x a week ago... once on Saturday with my family and friends...and again on my actual birthday on November 24th! I am so thankful for all of the nice gifts that everyone gave me - and I am "In Love with ELMO".

We celebrated Thanksgiving 2x as well this year. Once with the Pifani Family at Aunt LaLa and Uncle JJ's house...and again down the shore house with the Trasatti Family. We had turkey, ham, and all the fixings!

And on Saturday afternoon, I decided I wanted no parts of the pack n play or crib any more. I climbed out of the pack n play at the shore house and broke my arm (radius and ulna). Mom and Dad took me to the Cape May ER and they gave me an X-Ray and splinted my arm. When the x-ray technician said only 1 more picture - I said cheese! Mom and Dad thought that was soo very cute.

When we got home, Dad took me to CHOP and they put a hard cast on my arm. I even got to pick the color - I chose PURPLE! Just because I have a broken arm - that won't stop me from running around and having a good time!

My Barbie Motorcycle

Mom and Dad bought us a Barbie Motorcycle at a yard sale last weekend. Because I am too young to drive, Nicholas drives and I hold on the back and enjoy the ride. Not sure if Nicholas realizes that this is going to be my ride, but for now I am happy to share because Nicholas is willing to drive me anywhere on the sidewalk that Mom and Dad let him!

Haircut and "On the Potty"

The good news is my hair grows fast because I got my bangs cuts this week and I think the girl thought I wanted a "doggy bowl" cut like Jim Carrey got in the movie Dumb and Dumber. My Mom and Dad told me how cute and pretty I am so I am not worried.

I peed on the potty tonight and everyone clapped for me! Today I sat on the potty two different times with Mommy and I just looked at Mommy thinking, now what? I wasn't sure what to do so I just mimicked my brother and kept saying "poop". The result was no result.

And then Daddy came home and I kept saying potty. So, Daddy put me on the potty right before bed and don't you know it I peed!!! Mommy came running in and was in disbelief - everyone was so proud of me.

It is hard to believe my brother Nicholas is 3 already! I love you Nicholas!

Here is a picture of me and my neighbor Emily - I just love Emily! We hung out yesterday during the party and we had lots of fun. She chased me around on the grass which made me laugh.

Yesterday I took my 1st and 2nd spill on the cement at the party. I survived, but I did skin my knee pretty good. Grand Mom Trasatti cleaned me up and I was as good as new in no time.

Daddy loves this new picture of me so I posted it for him. Today I got real close to saying 2 new words...Pop Pop and Hi. Daddy swore I said Pop Pop when he was showing me a picture, but no one was around as a witness.

My Mommy put my hair up for the first time and I just loved it... and so did Daddy. I said 'ball' for the first time yesterday, Mom and Dad were so proud of me.

I was also put in timeout for the first time because I hit my brother....usually it is the other way around.

Mom and Daddy are taking us to the shore this weekend and I can't wait! Oh yeah, my cousins Jack and Ryan were born late last night and I can't wait to meet them. Sadly, I am no longer the youngest of my cousins, but I will always be the baby in the family.

From 2010_04_01 Easter Egg Hunt

Mommy and Daddy just love this picture of me so I thought I would share it. I am babbling like crazy so I am sure I will be saying lots of new words any day now. Nicholas keeps trying to teach me to say Cali, Nicholas, dog, and baby... and I am getting really close with baby and and Cali.

The Easter Bunny came to my house on Sunday and left me a huge basket with some candy and toys - it was like Christmas all over again! Nicholas and Daddy put carrots & a drink out for the Easter Bunny and he at most of the carrots - he just left a few scraps behind. I think my favorite part of East was playing with the easter eggs. I did pretty well on the Easter Egg Hunt, but every once in a while I would drop my basket with all of the eggs in it.

Here's whats new since last time:

1. Mommy put my hair in a pony tail for the first time yesterday - stay tuned for the picture because Mom and Dad think it is super cute.
2. I am getting a new tooth - molar
3. Almost saying the word baby & Cali
4. I now can climb up on the kitchen chair by myself like a big girl
   

Sweet little girl

I am 15-months old now and I am motoring along. My brother chases me and I chase him...so we have lots of fun together. And Cali joins in the fun which is great. I love to dance when the music is on so clear out the floor, because it is time to boogie!

Daddy just melts every time he sees me and I am already trying to use that to my advantage. I just blink a few times and smile...and then he is mush. I am desperately trying to talk...I say Momma and Dadda all the time...and I babble all the time. Mom and Dad think my vocabulary will be growing very quickly.

I love to eat lots of different food now. I love peanut butter & jelly, bananas, pasta, stir fry, cheerios, and goldfish! If you make it there is a good chance that I will eat it.

I have been doing something new and Dad gets a kick out of it...Nicholas not so much. When Nicholas gets in trouble he goes in Timeout. When this happens I usually go over to see him and start pointing at him and babbling...Mom and Dad think it looks like I am yelling at him and just start laughing.

Mommy and Daddy saying that I am growing up so quickly...and in a way I am. I have 5 teeth now and counting. I am running all over the place and I want to do everything that my brother Nicholas is doing. And I am developing such a cute personality....and I do NOT like to be told no...not surprising if you met my Mom or Dad. I play 'hide n seek' all the time, really enjoy splashing in the bathtub, slapping you high-five, and love it when Mommy and Daddy chase me.

Christmas was fun for me this year as I enjoyed opening my gifts...with some help. Santa brought me a mailbox for Christmas and I think that is 1 of my favorite toys so far. Nicholas and I put the mail in the mailbox all the time and it never gets old. I loved seeing the Christmas Tree with the lights on...and I miss not seeing it, but I am looking forward to next Christmas and it will be a lot of fun.
